European Commission - Daily News Daily News 23 / 06 / 2025 Brussels, 23 June 2025 UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority receive €202 million of support to ensure key services on the ground The European Commission is stepping up its support to the Palestinian people by allocating a total of €202 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Palestinian Authority under the Comprehensive and Multiannual Programme for Palestine's Recovery and Resilience. €150 million have been allocated to support the Palestinian Authority in ensuring the delivery of key public services, including the payment of salaries of teachers, civil servants and healthcare workers. The financial support is linked to the implementation of the reform agenda. UNRWA received a contribution of €52 million to support the delivery of critical services, including education, primary healthcare and relief assistance to Palestinian refugees across the Gaza Strip, West Bank and hosting countries such as Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, said: “Our support to the Palestinian people remains steadfast. With this disbursement of €202 million to the Palestinian Authority and the UN Agency UNRWA, we reaffirm our unwavering political and financial commitment.
