Ashgabat Celebrates Europe Day 2025 with “Spirit of Unity and Partnership” Reception

On 16 May 2025 the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan hosted a vibrant reception in Ashgabat to celebrate Europe Day, annually observed on 9 May. The event welcomed over 350 distinguished guests, including high-level representatives from Turkmenistan’s national authorities, the diplomatic corps, international organisations, EU funded projects, the private sector, civil society, media, and volunteers. Ambassador of the European Union to Turkmenistan Ms Beata Pęksa warmly welcomed the attendees, whose presence underscored the strong spirit of partnership between the European Union and Turkmenistan. In her remarks, she highlighted Europe Day as a powerful symbol of unity and cooperation, emphasising the EU's commitment to continued collaboration with Central Asia and Turkmenistan in key areas such as sustainable development, education, energy efficiency, digital innovation, environmental protection, human rights, and cultural exchanges, all vital for strengthening bilateral ties. This year's Europe Day holds particular significance as it commemorates the 75 th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
