Visit of Visit of H.E. Mr. KÄstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania

On 30 May 2025, SatCen had the honour of welcoming H.E. Mr. Kęstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Lithuanian government. The visit was also attended by H.E. Ms. Lyra Puisyte-Bostroem, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Spain, and H.E. Ms. Nieves Blanco, Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Lithuania. The visit marked an important moment for dialogue on the evolution of SatCen and its growing role within the EU’s security and defence framework. Discussions centred on the Centre’s achievements, as well as the path forward, with particular focus on the importance of strategic autonomy and enhanced situational awareness for the EU. The delegation received a series of briefings, offering a closer look at the Centre’s workflows, geospatial analysis capabilities and operational contributions. H.E. Minister Budrys expressed appreciation for the visit, stating: "Thank you for the great visit and meeting. You have to be proud of your important work and your achievements! Looking forward to cooperating with you in the future — a lot of work awaits us as we are building a stronger EU."
