Political context, problem definition and subsidiarity check Political context The Political Guidelines for the next European Commission 2024-2029 clearly identify ‘Europe’s sustainable prosperity and competitiveness’ as a priority objective. The key elements that would help to fulfil this objective are: i) strengthening the EU’s resilience and competitiveness, ii) facilitating the green and digital transitions, iii) promoting innovation, industrial development and a business-friendly environment, and iv) moving forward together.
