Europe Day 2025 marked in Mostar celebrating unity, innovation, culture and strong EU-BiH relations

The Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Luigi Soreca, together with a number of EU Member States’ Ambassadors and diplomats continued the celebrations of Europe Day in Mostar on 10 May 2025. The visit focused on the European Union’s strong and lasting partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as the results of the EU’s continued support to strengthening the economy, supporting local producers and creating opportunities for youth engagement. Ambassador Soreca said, “I am happy to be celebrating Europe Day along with EU Ambassadors in a city that represents very well the spirit of what we want to achieve. The values of the European Union are to bring together different communities under the umbrella of peace, cooperation and respect. The wide majority of Bi H citizens want the European Union and we are here to make sure this happens. The time is now to overcome differences and unite with EU accession as a centre of gravity for the benefit of the country”. Following meetings between Ambassador Soreca and the Mayor of Mostar Mario Kordić, as well as with the Speaker of the Mostar City Assembly Đani Rahimić, the representatives of the EU and the City of Mostar met on Spanski Trg, for a presentation of local agricultural products, called the “Taste of Herzegovina”.
