EFCA Administrative Board adopts its Annual Report for 2024

During its meeting held in Vigo, EFCA Administrative Board adopted the Annual Report reflecting all the activities undertaken by the EFCA last year. In 2024, the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) implemented 99.5% of the Annual Work Programme adopted by the Administrative Board in the framework of the Single Programming Document. During its meeting held in Vigo, EFCA Administrative Board adopted the Annual Report reflecting all the activities undertaken by the EFCA last year. In 2024, the European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) implemented 99.5% of the Annual Work Programme adopted by the Administrative Board in the framework of the Single Programming Document. Implementation was aligned with a budget execution of 100%. The Agency has cooperated with the Member States and the European Commission providing them assistance as regards the coordination of fisheries control and inspection including the deployment of national means and the reporting of information. EFCA contributed to the harmonisation and common application of the rules, the research and development of control and inspection methodologies, the coordination of training of inspectors, the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and the uniform application of the control system of the Common Fisheries Policy. Furthermore, EFCA has contributed to the European Coast Guard cooperation with other EU agencies and assisted the Commission in the performance of tasks assigned to them in legislative acts relevant to the objectives of the Agency. The three projects supported by grants in the framework of the European Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and European Neighbourhood Instrument continued.
