Budgetary Control Committee recommends postponing discharge for EU Asylum Agency

In the draft resolution outlining their discharge recommendations for the EU agencies, CONT Committee MEPs pointed to a report by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) in relation to the EUAA, which drew “very worrying conclusions, based on established facts, that put at risk the stability, governance and reputation of the Agency.” The committee therefore voted unanimously to postpone granting discharge to the EUAA. If Parliament endorses that decision during its May plenary session, MEPs will revisit the matter later this year, after obtaining additional information from the Asylum Agency.
