Nemi signes 11 new on-demand transport services

Nemi, a company part of EIT Urban Mobility’s investment portfolio, makes public transport in low-density areas feasible by providing a software solution that enables flexible bus services. Support by EIT Urban Mobility has allowed Nemi to become the reference tool for planning and operating flexible public transport services, with a differential model that improves reliability and predictability for users, while maximising vehicle occupancy and service efficiency. Recently, Nemi launched Transport on demand (TOD) services in Palencia, Girona, Ribes de freser and its first services in Italy. Over the past year Nemi has launched 11 new TOD services, covering rural public transport as well as a night bus service, a rural taxi service and the first service in Italy in the form of a shuttle service on the coast in the Sud Salento region. By creating efficient alternative to private vehicles, Nemi not only encourages public transport use but in turn minimises energy consumption and reliance on fossil fuels.
