Tips for preparing simplified SCIP notificationsECHA receives a high volume of simplified SCIP notifications (SSN) towards the end of the year. SSN allows you to refer to information already successfully submitted to the SCIP database without having to prepare and submit a new IUCLID dossier. Follow these tips to make sure that your notifications are successful.Make sure you send the correct file:When using Export to Excel for extracting SCIP numbers from the ECHA Submission Portal, ensure your file is free of duplicate rows and failed notifications before you share it with your customers (Set the submission status to 'succeeded' before you extract the SCIP numbers). If you receive such an Excel file from your supplier, compare it with your own extracted list of SSN submissions from the ECHA Submission Portal to make sure you do not try to notify the same SCIP number twice.Limit the file size: Keep the number of rows in your Excel file to 10 000 rows for faster processing.Monitor submission progress: Check the status of your submissions and do not submit the same file multiple times.Address failures: Carefully review the validation report and correct any issues accordingly if needed. When submitting on behalf of multiple companies, repeat the steps above separately for each of them. You can find more information and support for preparing your SCIP notification on our website in our manual How to prepare and submit a SCIP notification available at the SCIP support page
