CONTEXT OF THE DELEGATED ACT Regulation (EU) 2023/957 amending Regulation (EU) 2015/757 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gas emissions from maritime transport, and amending Directive 2009/16/EC was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 16 May 2023 and entered into force on 5 June 2023. The aim of the Regulation is to amend Regulation (EU) 2015/757 in order to provide for the inclusion of maritime transport activities in the EU Emissions Trading System and for the monitoring, reporting and verification of emissions of additional greenhouse gases and emissions from additional ship types. According to Article 2(1a) of Regulation (EU) 2015/757 as amended, that Regulation should also apply, from 1 January 2025, to offshore ships below 5 000 gross tonnage but not below 400 gross tonnage in respect of the greenhouse gas emissions released during their voyages from their last port of call to a port of call under the jurisdiction of a Member State and from a port of call under the jurisdiction of a Member State to their next port of...
