MARKET ACCESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE Tuesday, 26 April 2022 at 09:00 Summary report 1. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA The agenda was approved with the following points: state of play discussions on market access for Morocco and Central America, a presentation on EU Merchandise Trade in 2021, Trade barriers regulation case on imports of ceramic tiles in Saudi Arabia and mandatory usage of letters of credit for exports in Egypt. 2. ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM THE CHAIR The Chair announced that the next MAAC meeting would be held on Thursday 19 May 2022 in WebEx. The agenda would include the state of play of market access with Lebanon and Thailand. On Access2Markets, the Chair announced that next seminars will be organised on 28 April 2022 (in English) and on 26 May 2022 (in English with interpretation in Portuguese, Czech, Estonian, Latvian and Slovenian). The link for registrations to these trainings can be retrieved on the A2M portal, under “events”. The Chair mentioned that the seminar on 28 April is organised in collaboration with the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation and focuses on the Japanese market. It would entail among others examples of import and export of goods from and to Japan, including ROSA, an explanation of the SME chapter of the agreement and the Procurement tool, which now includes Japan. 3.
