Today in the European Parliament I hosted an exciting and important Roundtable Discussion entitled: “Strengthening the Economic Case for LGBTQI+ Inclusion”. We gathered a multi stakeholder panel representing business, civil society and policy to discuss how we can strengthen the economic case for LGBTQ+ inclusion – an engine for European competitiveness. This is the first time an event like this, focusing on the economic case has been hosted in the Parliament and it couldn’t have come at a better time, given the worrying trends of backsliding we’ve seen. Welcome and introduction and moderation was performed by Kelan Murphy, EU Engagement Lead. I was joined on the panel by great speakers and advocates: Fernando Alonso Perez Chao, Director of Global Engagement, Open for Business Suzanne Knoefel, Head of Unit – Non-Discrimination: LGBTIQ, Age, Horizontal Matters (DG JUST), European Commission Sven Vandyck, Director, OpenAtWork, Belgium Rú Avila Rodriguez, Deputy Executive Director, IGLYO Europe Dominic Arnall, CEO, Open for Business. 🌈🌈🇪🇺🇮🇪🌈🌈
