EU and Germany boost Ukraine’s energy efficiency with €18M financial support

The Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF) is entering a new phase, supported by an €18 million financial package from the European Union (EU) and the German government’s International Climate Initiative (IKI), which includes investment grants and technical assistance. This financial support was confirmed during the 10 th Coordination Council Meeting held today at the EU Delegation to Ukraine. This contribution strengthens the EU’s and Germany’s ongoing support for Ukraine’s energy independence and green reconstruction. The funding will enable the EEF to expand its residential energy efficiency programmes and reach a greater number of beneficiaries. Homeowner associations remain a key partner in the implementation of the Fund’s activities. Their role in initiating and managing building renovation projects has been essential to achieving results on the ground. First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Alyona Shkrum, stated: ”Since its inception, the Energy Efficiency Fund has been and remains a key tool for the thermal modernization of Ukraine’s residential housing stock.
