FRA takes part in discussions on judicial developments in EU asylum law

News Item 28 May 2025 FRA takes part in discussions on judicial developments in EU asylum law Asylum, migration and borders FRA spoke during the EU Asylum Agency’s (EUAA) fourth High-Level Roundtable on developments in judicial dialogue in the field of international protection. It looked at case law from the Court of Justice of the EU, the European Court of Human Rights and national courts. FRA’s presentation focused on the key changes introduced by the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, with particular attention to the screening process and the asylum border procedure, by also highlighting its Pact-related work. The event took place on 15-16 May in Strasbourg. The EUAA jointly organised the meeting with the European Courts, the Association of European Administrative Judges, and the International Association of Refugee and Migration Judges. It brought together over 200 judges from 27 EU+ countries, as well as from a number of non-EU countries from Europe, together with representatives of the Courts, EUAA, the UN Refugee Agency and FRA. The roundtable presented a great opportunity to gain insights into the developments in the case law of European and national courts – and their judicial dialogue – in EU asylum law and related fields.
