ELA takes another step in supporting EU Cooperation through a better use of the IMI system modules for posting and road transport

Held as part of ELA’s annual IMI-PROVE meeting, the event brought together over 150 participants from across the EU, NIMICs, labour inspectors, tax authorities, and representatives from the European Commission (DG GROW, DG EMPL, DG DIGIT). This unique opportunity created a platform to bridge dialogue between policy coordinators, hands-on system users of IMI and Electronic Exchange of Social Security Information (EESSI) systems and social security experts, who play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the IMI system. Together, they created one dynamic platform aimed at enhancing collaboration, sharing best practices, and boosting digital tools used across the EU in a spirit of partnership, shared purpose, and progress. ELA presented the results of the understanding of the information exchange in the cross-border cooperation. The revision is a result of a long-term consultation run with the Member States’ authorities and the European Commission One full day was also dedicated to exploring synergies between the systems of IMI and EESSI, including how social security data could be more effectively accessed and used by national labour or tax authorities to verify posting situations and improve responses to workplace accidents involving posted workers.
