EU Statement – UN General Assembly: Second Informal Interactive Dialogue on the Implementation of the Pact for the Future Check against delivery Mr President, Mr Secretary General, distinguished colleagues, I have the honour to deliver this statement on behalf of the European Union and its 27 member states.  The Candidate Countries North Macedonia*, Montenegro*, Albania*, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina* and Georgia as well as Armenia and San Marino align themselves with this statement. Thank you, Mr President, for offering us this opportunity to discuss the implementation of the Pact for the Future. I also want to express my thanks to the Secretary-General for briefing the membership on progress made by the UN in this important work. We welcome this timely dialogue on how we, as Member States, can contribute to ensuring the Pact’s effective implementation, robust monitoring, and transparent evaluation. Dialogues such as todays are crucial, as we must not lose focus on the Pact. Distinguished colleagues, The Pact for the Future is a pivotal opportunity to reinvigorate multilateralism, renew trust in global governance, and turbocharge the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda. It must become a living framework –one that delivers real change on the ground.  The EU sees monitoring and evaluation as an essential part of the implementation of the Pact and a driver of credibility and learning.
